The Flintshire District Target Sport Team had an incredible weekend at the annual Waterloo Shooting Competition, held at Milldale Scout Camp Site in South West Cheshire. Six young participants and five leaders joined the event, showcasing their skills in a variety of target sports.
Competing against 250 entrants from South West Cheshire, Mid-Cheshire, Warrington East and West, Holmes Chapel, Flintshire, and Shropshire, the team excelled. This year, they brought home six medals, a significant achievement compared to last year’s single medal.
The competition, open to all Scout Association members aged 10 and above, featured events such as air rifle and air pistol shooting, crossbow, and archery, along with other fun camp activities.
Here are the proud medalists:
- Rowan: Bronze in Archery
- Freya: Silver in Archery
- Catherine Murphy: Bronze in Field Target
- Tim Payton-Jones: Gold in Archery
- Terry Gleave: Bronze in the Knock Out Competition and Gold in Crossbow
Special mention goes to the youngest team member, who reached the quarter-finals despite being new to shooting. The team’s hard work and dedication paid off, and they look forward to more successes in the future. Well done to the Flintshire District Target Sports Team!
