The Last weekend in September 2026 saw over 70 members of the Clwyd Area Scouting Family come together at the Gladstone Scout Activity Centre and Campsite for the fourth annual Cwnsyllt Target Sports Competition.
Groups and Units from across Clwyd were represented by their talented young people, network members, and adult volunteers. Al took part in a range of target sport activities, including air rifle (both springer and PCP), Archery, Crossbow, Tomahawk throwing, and new for this year Laser run/ move. Competition was friendly, supportive but at time intense, with impressive skills, resilience and determination across the board.
This event has continued to grow, in terms of participants, volunteers, enthusiasm and events. We are already planning on running a total of seven events, running over 3 hour slots, and over two days to give all across the district and perhaps across the border a chance to get involved.
A huge thank you to all of the volunteers, parents/ guardians/ carers, and instructors who make the day possible. Also thanks to the Gladstone Scout Activity centre and Campsite for provision of an awesome venue and facilities. Not least a note of thanks to the Scouts, Explorers, Network members, and other adults who took part with such enthusiasm and energy (especially those who tried the laser run/ move).
